Story & significance

Shiva is the destroyer and transformer of the Trimurti, the great yogi who meditates on Kailash. He drank the halahala poison during the churning of the ocean to save creation, holding it in his throat which turned blue — Neelkanth. As Nataraja he dances the cosmic dance that dissolves and renews the universe.
